So, if we're running a fever, we will feel cold until we shiver, or otherwise warm up to the thermostat setting. (Once I had a bad viral infection in the middle of the summer. I was chilling (shivering) so much that I was miserable. I went out and sat in my car (which was parked in the sun) until I warmed up.) When the fever "breaks", our thermostat is turned down again and we sweat until we cool off to the set point again.
