Now big bang was the huge explosion ever happened and it created the universe and space. But for billions of years there was nothing but radiation and dust. This dust travelled far away from origin and because of gravity converted into the galexies. But there is velocity at which they are travelling away from each others. Now this velocity is relatively very large compared to the gravitational force among them.
