Happy birthday Bobby Blue Bland. He made all kindsa great records but his earliest sides for Duke are the best Damnit Bobby… I said propane not cocaine shirt, and rawest. This LP is in many ways the peak of his style, he’s smoothed out a bit from the early Memphis years and is in full control of his instrument. I’d say this is one of the greatest LP’s ever made. Got to see him play at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa in the late ’70s. Great show!
